The Prince Edward Island Business Women’s Association (PEIBWA) exists to support women and gender-diverse individuals at all stages of business across our beautiful Island.
Whether you’re launching an idea in Souris, scaling a business in Tignish, or navigating your next move as a newcomer to Canada, there’s room for you here.

Doing business in Canada is about building relationships. My main reason for joining PEIBWA was to meet other women, share experiences, and learn from others.

What Does PEIBWA Do?
We’re fortunate here in PEI to have many wonderful organizations that support small businesses. But at PEIBWA, we recognize that women are built differently, and so are our businesses.
Our programming is designed to support the unique needs of women in business in Prince Edward Island. That’s our difference and our greatness.
Maybe you’re here to validate a business idea. Perhaps you’re running a company with hundreds of employees and big decisions on your shoulders. Or it could be that you’re new to PEI and are trying to establish your professional career.
Starting a business can feel hard. Starting one without a business background or if you’re new to the Island—or the country—can feel even harder.
PEIBWA can help you meet other women, find your footing, and feel more connected to the Island’s business community.
The best part of being a PEIBWA member is that you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
We’re here to bring PEI’s women in business together to learn from each other and build meaningful connections that help you grow.

“I have been a PEIBWA member at different points over the years and have benefited from some of the programming. HOWEVER, I have never experienced the depth and breadth of programs and services and events that are offered now. Since rejoining the organization at the start of 2026, I have attended several events and have participated in an amazing peer mentorship program which has already opened doors for me. My membership investment has paid off in spades!”

Our Values (how we show up for you)
No matter who sits on our board or in the CEO’s chair, these are the core values that guide everything we do:
Community. We provide a safe, supportive, inclusive space for women and gender-diverse individuals in PEI to learn, grow, and thrive in business.
Collaboration. We believe in collaboration over competition. When women share ideas and celebrate each other, everyone wins.
Connection. From networking mixers to small-group programming, we create opportunities for members to form relationships that can move businesses forward.
